The children below are carrying out an experiment. Do you agree with what they are saying?

Comment on EACH child.

  1. Pink shirt girl: I disagree because it is still going to be water but a different colour .

Green t-shirt little boy: maybe because the water is hot it will make the sugar into little pieces and it will dissolve easier as well.

Yellow shirt girl : yes!!! The water is hot so it will make the sugar into little pieces and it will dissolve easier as well.

No person: No!!! It will make no difference between more or less water because
it is still the same water but it might or not work!!!

  2. I disagree with number 1 because dark colors like black absorbs heat such as the sun is absorbed
    By black cars.
I agree with number because if you have a bigger jar you can put more water which means the sugar could disolve quicker and can disolve more sugar.
I agree with number 2 as it would be easier because if you grind it would be soft and smaller.
I agree with number 3 because if the water is warmer it will heat up the sugar and then dissolve it.

i think that the one with the yellow and orange hair is correct because instead of cold water we could put hot water and that what if hot water dissolve and cold water don`t dissolve.I also think that the one with the pink shirt and the brown hair because it says that dark colors can absorb things just like colorsIf you need to make a smaller or larger amount, then use one part water and two parts sugar. Set the pot on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil. Be sure to stir the water often to help the sugar dissolve. Reduce the water to a simmer and wait for the sugar to dissolve.

  4. Pink shirt girl: I disagree because it is the same substance which cannot absorb either more or less just because it is a different colour.
Green shirt boy: I disagree because to dissolve more sugar you would need more water, not just a bigger jar because if it is the same amount of water you can only dissolve a certain amount of sugar.
Yellow shirt girl: You would be able to do it quicker but not necessarily more because liquids become less viscous as they warm up.
Green shirt boy: I disagree because it is still the same amount of sugar to be dissolved.

  5. I disagree with the girl with the pink shirt because it doesn't make a difference of the colour of the water because it is still water. I disagree with the No person because if the jar is bigger it actually takes more time to dissolve. I agree with the boy with the green shirt if u grind sugar it will dissolve quicker as it is a powder. I also agree with the girl with the yellow shirt because hot water melts the sugar quickly to dissolve it. Arya

  6. Girl with pink shirt:i don't think that changing the colour won't help the sugar dissolve more because it only changes the colour of the water.
Boy with blond hair:i think that changing the size of the jar won't change how much the sugar dissolves.
no one:i think that if you do grind the sugar into powder it probably will dissolve more .
teacher:heating up the water probably will help the sugar dissolve more because it probably melts a little bit

The girl in pink is wrog as the color wont break it down and that is dissolving.

The blond guy is wrong as if its a bigger jar it will just spread it and that wont help it wont break the suger down.

The invisible guy is wright as grinding it makes it smaller so the water can break it faster and break more as its not so thik and big.

The girl whith orange hair is wright as heating it will make the warter hoter so it can break more as it can melt and that will break it down and because of the heat it can break it faster.

  8. I disagree with 1 because black won't make it dissolve because also you won't be able to see it dissolve. I agree with number 2 because it would be soft and it will dissolve more sugar as it will go round the jar. I agree with number 3 because it will dissolve much more quicker. I agree with number 4 because when it's warmer it will hear up the sugar and then dissolve the sugar

  9. I disagree with the first girl, as no matter what colour the liquid is the same amount will always dissolve.
I half agree with the second statement as if you had a bigger jar and you put more water in it would work, however if you just had a big jar but put the same amount of water in no difference would be afoot.
I disagree with the third statement as even if the pieces of sugar are smaller no more will dissolve, it might however be a little hard to see.
If you heat up the water, I think that more will dissolve, as warm water normally dissolves better than cold water.

  10. TOPIC: DEMOCRACY

'Demo' is an Ancient Greek word for 'People'.
'Cracy' is an Ancient Geek word for 'Rule'.
    Democracy is about people rule.

Democracy allows ordinary people a decisive say in who governs the country and how they govern it.

The key features of Democracy are:

    1. Respect for Human Rights
    2. A Multi-Party System
    3. A Democratic Voting System
    4. Respect for Rule of Law
    5. Democratic Governance
    6. Citizen Participation

    Example:

In a Democratic Voting System all adult citizens have an equal right to vote in the country's elections, which are held at regular intervals. Elections are free and fair. The political party or party coalition with the most votes gets to govern.

  11. SCIENCE: DISSOLVING STUFF

I disagree with the statement about changing the colour of water to dissolve more sugar. I believe the sugar granules will have to compete with the colouring to dissolve in water and therefore less sugar will dissolve.

If you grind up the sugar to a powder, the rate at which the sugar dissolves will be faster.

I disagree with the statement that more sugar will dissolve in hot water. Hot water will merely dissolve sugar quickly than cold water, but not dissolve more sugar.

I agree with the statement, If a bigger jar was used more sugar could be dissolved. In a bigger jar, there would be a greater amount of water molecules to bond with a greater amount of sugar.

  12. brown hair girl , no mater what colour it is it stay the same
blond boy,I agree because if it smaller grind of sugar it dissolve easy
red hair lady, yes because if it melt it it will mix in easy

  13. Girl with brown hair: I disagree with her because even though you use dark colours it would still absorb/dissolve and even with other colours.

Boy with blonde hair: I kind of disagree because even if you had a bigger jar you would still get the same result compared to the one with a normal jar, and even if you added more sugar it will still be the same.

If we grind the sugar the sugar will absorb.

Girl with ginger hair: I agree because if you heat up the water it will absorb quickly.

  14. Girl with hat:no it doesn't mater what color the water is
It will still take time to dissolve.

Boy with blond hair:yes because if the sugerr is smaller it will devolve faster.

No person:yes because they is more space/watering the jar so the super will fit in.

Girl with orange hair:no because the water will evaporate because of the heat and the super will stay.

  15. The girl with the pink t-shirt: l disagree with her because nothing would happen to the sugar if the water changed colour.
Anonymous: I disagree because a bigger container can`t change how anything can dissolve.
The boy with the green top: l agree because then the sugar is easier to dissolve.
The girl with the ginger hair: l agree because the sugar would turn into a liquid and then the liquid will be easier to dissolve.

  16. 1 I would disagree the person with the pink jacket because even though you have a colour into the water it will still be water.2 You could also use a bigger jar because if you have more water that means you have more sugar to dissolve in the jar.And number 4 it will be much more quicker and also faster.I think that the yellow person and the orange person are right because if you had hot water it might dissolve even more than if you have cold and also it could heat it up or melt it so it dissolve.

  17. Child 1: The color of the water does not matter not if you make it a darker color you just wont see it.

Child 2: if you put the water in a bigger container it wont make a difference because it is the same amount of water. Also if you grind up the shuger it will desolve quicker because it is a powder.

Child 3: If you Heat up the water it will desolve it quicker because it is boiling the shuger

  18. Girl in pink: I disagree, as the colour of liquid doesn't matter in the solubility of the sugar.
I agree that the bigger the jar is could dissolve more sugar than a small jar.

Boy in green jumper: I agree that if you make the sugar into powder the solubility of sugar will be faster and you can dissolve more sugar as you have more space.

Girl with the green jumper and red hair: I agree as the solubility of sugar is higher in hot water and you can stir more sugar with hot water.

  19. Hi and these are the answer by Soham:

    1.The girl's first speech:

I disagree because even though the water is changed colours, it will all be the same like the same sugar will dissolve

    2. The boys speech:

I disagree because even though it is bigger, it still the same.

    3. the teacher's speech:

i agree at last because it the water is more hotter, most of the sugar will be dissolved.

    4.The boy's second speech:

I agree because if it is tinier most of the sugar will be dissolved.

  20. Colour of water : I do not agree with having a darker colour water because will still be water with a different colour which will not make any difference in dissolving water.
Bigger jar : I may agree, because it will hold more water and less sugar which help in dissolving sugar easier.
Grind Sugar: If sugar is grounded into powder will make it easier to dissolve into water.
Heated up water: Sugar has a property to melt when heated up. When the sugar melts it will be easier for both the liquids to mixup.

  21. The first child:
I disagree because the water will be colour but it will not make a difference

    The second child:
Maybe his suggestion may work to make the jar bigger to dissolve the suger

    The third child:
I agree with the third child because I think heating up the suger and water would may work
