i think that it is around the 5th century BC in the Greek city states. the surrounding territory of Attica, and is the first known democracy in the world. The world was stunned when Bush was first named the winner of the U.S. presidential race, even after more U.S. voters had cast ballots for Gore.Well, part of the answer is that the U.S. was not established as a pure democracy, but as a republic where voters elect representatives and electors. an example is school council and also a priminister.

democracy is a system of government were people chose rulers (voting). An example is that you can vote for school council or vote for your prime minister. Also people prefer it that way because people like to choice. I believe that democracy is a fair way to run a country.

  9. Democracy is a state of government in which the citizens of the country or state vote to make decisions. This is just like when we had Brexit or when Donald Trump became prime minister we voted to decide what would happen. In Latin they call it Demokratia which means the rule of the people.

  12. Democracy is a system that gives every person, with a legal right to vote, the opportunity to vote for the representatives they wish to make government decisions. Democracy is meant to give every citizen the ability to vote in elections in a free society, the protection of human rights, and law that applies to everyone equally. The term 'democracy' appeared in Greek philosophy and politics in Athens, and the Athenians established the first democracy in 508-507 BC. The word 'democracy' meant 'rule by the people'.

    Meaning:Demos/Whole Citizen Living Within A Particular City-State.
    Kratos/Power Of Rule.

Democracy is that in Ancient Greece people had the ability to vote for who they wanted to be their government like today we still use democracy for voting for the UK's Prime Minister or other Prime Minsters/Presidents and like in school classes we also vote for our School Council. It was made by the Athenians in Ancient Greece and used for a VERY long time.
